In today’s age where swiping left and right have become a thing, Penny Reid beautifully tackles the world of online dating, artificial intelligence, and human interactions. And so when Marie Harris was notified that they found her “perfect match,” she was intrigued.

I adored Matt’s and Marie’s friendship, how they took care of each other and just enjoyed being together. It wasn’t a far stretch that they would eventually fall in love. While this might not have been my favorite Penny Reid book it still made for a very enjoyable, angst-filled read about unrequited love, childhood woes and heartache. You can count on this author to give you something truly distinctive. Penny Reid’s stories are always one of a kind.
Hard Wood by Lauren Blakely – Big Rock Book 6
Marie always felt like more of a background character in the Knitting in the Cities series but after this book I started paying a lot more attention to her. Of course, the entire Knitting gang is back with their insights and advice, which is another favorite aspect of the story. I love each of these quirky characters and I’m going to be sad to say goodbye to them, but I can’t wait for Kate and Dan’s story in Marriage of Inconvenience.
This is a book review and not an author review so I won’t go into detail about how amazing she is to her fans. Penny treats her readers like they have brains in their heads. She treats them like she has expectations for them. She treats them like she wants them to read relevant material that is not only entertaining but also informative. Penny has respect for her readers, and it shows in every book she writes–including, to my very delight, Dating-ish.
